What’s Happening In Our Class This Week

This week we will explore how we can express ourselves through stories. Reading stories, acting out stories, and making up stories are all different ways we can explore our creativity through play. We will spend time reading familiar stories and acting them out, using story starter pictures to create our own stories, creating the story line to wordless books, and by adding our own words to some Mad Libs to make up funny stories. Students will get to work as a class, in large groups, and in small groups to create all sorts of wonderful stories that express their imaginations and allow them to inspire each other through their creativity.

Field Trip

Our field trip will be this Thursday, May 4th, 2017 to the Flex Family Bneid Al Ghar, Istiqlal Street.  Students will have a variety of activities including ballet, karate, movement games and climbing. Transportation will be provided by AIS. We will be taking the bus. We expect the trip to last from 8:30 AM until 12:00 PM. If you have not already sent in your child’s permission form with the 3.5 KD fee, please do so before Wednesday, May 3rd. For this field trip, please make sure your child is wearing Velcro shoes as we will be taking our shoes off, and putting them back on, multiple times.

Because we will be very active on our field trip, we expect students to get quite hungry. For the ease of the field trip, please make sure your child has a simple, bagged lunch with a healthy sandwich, some healthy fruits or vegetables, and a small bottle of water. Please do not send in biscuits or other junk food, or anything that is difficult to eat. It will be much like when we had our field trip to the zoo. The photos below show an example of what your child’s lunch should look like on Thursday:
